The local humanitarian organizations of Marib have called on the United Nations to establish a humanitarian center in the government-held city which accommodates thousands of Yemenis displaced by the Houthi militia.
In a meeting chaired by Marib's Deputy Governor Abd-Rabbu Miftah, the city's organizations said such a UN center is necessary to serve the Yemeni IDPs in not only Marib but the surrounding provinces fAljawf, Shabwa and al-Beidha.
They expressed their displeasure that the representatives of the UN agencies are based in the Houthi-held Sana'aand not paying attention to the population forced by the rebel militia to flee into Marib andits neighboring provinces.
