Security Committee of Marib governorate said preliminary investigations into the criminal acts committed by lawbreakers last week against law enforcement security personnel showed that the perpetrators have close relations with Iran-aligned Houthi militia.
A statement issued by Marib's Security Committee seen by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) reads" Investigations revealed that the offense committed by the sabotage elements against the law enforcement forces on Monday, July 1,2019, wasn't an accidental incident, rather it was predetermined and coordinated in advance with the Iran-allied Houthi militia.
"The perpetrators have proved ties with the militia, this is clearly evidenced as many gunmen from other districts and governorates were detected to have engaged in the confrontations and carried out attacks against the security personnel in checkpoints and security positions in the area of old Marib, al-Khasif area and security post in the area called the quarter of the company", the statement added.
The Security Committee noted that the troublemakers aimed to create chaos and destabilize security in favor of the militia which backed them by firing Katyusha rockets against the residential areas in the city, IDPs Camps and firing ballistic missile on the house of the governor Sultan Al-Arradah, located in heavy populated residential area.
