Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdul Malik on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the security and military committee of Marib province.
The meeting brought together deputy prime minister Salem Al-Khanbashi, army's Chief of the Staff Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al-Nakha'i, head of the Joint Military Operations of Maj. Gen. Sgheer bin Aziz and senior officials from the Defense and Interior Ministries.
During the meeting, PM said the government is against building any paramilitary entities outside the state.
He cited the ongoing rebellion by the paramilitary "Southern Transitional Council" forces in south Yemen as a living testimony to the danger of the practice. "It has catastrophic consequences and allows for the expansion of terrorist groups," he said.
He praised the role of security and military forces in maintaining security in Marib governorate, making it a safe haven for Yemenis fleeing from Houthi militias.
The Chief of Staff pointed to the danger the Iran-backed Houthi militia also poses to Marib and the rest of the country's territories.
