eputy Governor of Marib governorate Dr. Abd-Rabbu Meftah held discussions today, Thursday, here with a delegation of the UNHCR in Yemen over humanitarian situations and the needs of the refugees and IDPs in the governorate.
The UNHCR delegation included External Relations Officer Julia Naboni, UNHCR Shelter and Housing Cluster Officer John Wynn, and UNHCR Director in Marib.
Dr. Meftah provided an informative presentation about the humanitarian situations and the increasingly growing needs of the refugees and IDPs who have continued to arrive in the governorate on daily basis.
He also cited a host of challenges and difficulties facing the local authority amid the limited basic services infrastructure and the large number of the refugees and IDPs in the governorate.
The Deputy governor praised the UNHCR's significant interventions and contribution to the humanitarian actions the areas of shelter, relief and housing as well as cash assistance for the IDPs and the poorest ones of them who are living outside the camps, up to 87 per cent of IDPs are integrated into society.
