Governor Arrada denies rumors of secret prisons in Marib

The governor of Marib province, Major General Sultan al-Aradah denied strongly all rumors about the existence of secret prisons in the province of Marib.

The governor said during an interview with UAE-owned Abu Dhabi channel, on Friday, that he would be responsible if there is any secret prison in the province.

"I declare to the whole world if there is any secret prison in the province of Marib , Al-Arada will be responsible for that and the one who must be held accountable" ,said the governor.

Al-Arada confirmed that the specialized courts and international organizations came to Marib and visited the prisons and saw the situation.

 

Responding to questions about the transfer of revenues of the Central Bank branch in Marib to the Central Bank in Aden, the governor revealed that the bank's branch in the province has a deficit of 24 billion as a result of its obligations.

Al-Arrada confirmed that Marib branch of the Central Bank pays large expenses to the fourth military region under presidential directives and supervises hospitals in Taiz, Aden, Marib and Al-Jouf, pointing out the branch bears the costs of some services to other provinces such as Shabwa and Al-Jouf alongside Marib. The governor mentioned that a daily report of the movement of the bank is sent to the presidency of the Republic.

Al-Aradah stressed that Marib authority has a bank account and has nothing to do with the government's at all.

 

Re military troops in the district of Serwah, the governor denied the rumors that there are 400 thousand soldiers, and stressed that they are only between 1500 to 3000.

Gen. Al-Arrada confirmed that the fighting in Serwah front still continues, despite the rough terrain, and using the military capabilities given previously to counter-terrorism forces and planting landmines in an unprecedented number by Houthi rebels.

Al-Arrada assured everyone that Serwah will enjoy a victory soon and that the major obstacles facing the army will be overcome.

 

The governor expressed surprise at the concerns about the use of the army for internal fighting .

, calling on all Yemenis not to cling to the past , look to the future and work to establish a state of law and order.

 "No one can turn the clock back, and today we cooperate to restore our state to be an active member in its region and in the whole world." 

 

In response to concerns about the establishment of Marib International Airport while Houthi militias still continue firing rockets, the governor confirmed that this aspect was taken into account when working on the construction study with the brothers in the Arab Coalition.

Concerning al-Qaeda, Gen. al-Arrada highlighted that there is no room for al-Qaeda in Marib province, and there are no camps like some provinces, and sometimes security forces involved in clashes with al-Qaeda members while passing through.

Relating to the smuggling of arms and drugs, the governor said the smuggling operations come through land and sea ports and through the deserts ,pointing out that the security services in cooperation with the Arab Coalition are making great efforts in this field.

He praised the measures being taken to tighten censorship on sea and land ports in Shabwa, Hadhramout and Al-Mahra province ,calling for more.
