31 IDPs camps in Marib; official

The director general of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Marib Hassan al-Shabwani stated that there are 31 internally displaced people “IDPs”camps in Marib ,let alone those who rent apartments or live with their relatives.

“Marib is the first governorate to absorb IDPs while international organizations that collect humanitarian donations do not fulfill its humanitarian role as required and cover only a small proportion of the needs”. He said at the conclusion of the course for representatives of IDPs camps in the province.

He appealed to United Nations humanitarian organizations to carry out its duties to IDPs as well as to the refugees from the Horn of Africa countries in Marib, calling for urgent intervention to address the increasing needs of food, shelter, health, education, protection and emergency response.
