Governor of Marib Maj Gen Sultan Al-Arada received on Thursday new Director of International Organization for Migration's "IOM" Office in Marib Paul Critchley and discussed partnership between the local authority and the organization in humanitarian field.
The two parties also discussed the organization's role and roles of other organizations working in humanitarian field and response to emergency needs of internally displaced people " IDPs" who displaced from different provinces and doubled burdens on local authority, which already suffered lack of infrastructure and weak services.
The governor was acquainted by the new director of IOM's office with humanitarian cooperation programs and what the office can provide for responding to needs of IDPs in the camps visited by high ranking delegation from the organization last month.
They also discussed exerted efforts for reorganizing the office and looking for a place for building state offices to international organizations.
The governor discussed with the IOM's office director the role the organization could play in helping the local authority facing influx of African migrants in the province and possible return to their countries.
