الأحد 24 مايو 2020 الساعة 04 صباحاً / Marib

Local authority of Marib approved Saturday a number of new precautionary measures to stop the spread of coronavirus, including closure of the governorate's entrances and a partial curfew in Marib city starting 24 May from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. till further notice, with the exception of emergency medical, humanitarian, and media teams.

This came after discovering that two confirmed cases of coronavirus in Marib have come from Sanaa and Aden. In a joint meeting of the Security Committee and the Technical Committee on Coronavirus in governorate under the chairmanship of Marib Governor Sultan Al-Arada, it approved closure of the governorate's entrances in Qaniya area and Harib district in order to prevent movement of citizens coming from Sana'a and Aden after the outbreak of the pandemic in both cities.

The meeting also approved the continuation of banning gatherings, including Eid prayers, and closing mosques, wedding halls, and parks, and monitoring of malls and markets over their commitment to precautionary measures and the necessary sterilization process.

It approved a proposal of the technical committee to use new hotels as quarantine for confirmed cases of coronavirus, as well as a field hospital for suspected cases.
