Major General Sultan al-Arada, deputy chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Wednesday with the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Yemen, Falah al-Hajraf. The two discussed ways to strengthen the sound relationship between the two countries and to work together on issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, PLC VP al-Arada and the Kuwaiti Ambassador discussed the latest developments while affirming their countries' shared positions on various important national and regional issues.
Al-Arada affirmed Yemen's solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in their dispute with Iran over the Durra gas field, stressing that the two countries have the right to exploit the resources of the field exclusively.
Al-Arada also praised the sincere stance of the State of Kuwait in supporting Yemen during its current crisis, expressing his gratitude for Kuwait's humanitarian and development contributions, including its recent financing of the maintenance of Marib's gas-fired power plant.
"The generous and unlimited support of the government and people of Kuwait towards the Yemeni people in recent years is truly appreciated," al-Arada said. "It has helped to alleviate the difficult humanitarian crisis caused by the terrorist Houthi militia and has helped the Yemenis to overcome it by various means."
