The Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, Major General Sultan Al-Arada, along the head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Captain Saleh Salim bin Nahid, laid on Thursday the foundation stone to complete the implementation of Marib International Airport project.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Major General Al-Arada expressed his delight at laying the foundation stone for this strategic project in accordance with the directives of His Excellency the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, the Prime Minister, Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik, the Minister of Transport, and the efforts of the head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, to complete this project.
He emphasized the significance of the airport in terms of its humanitarian, economic, tourism, and cultural contributions, as it will serve as a vital link connecting the governorate to the world. He also affirmed that Marib Airport is a crucial national asset and will provide essential services to the citizens of the Republic of Yemen. Al-Arada underscored the urgency of expediting the remaining works for this vital airport, recognizing its significance during a critical and challenging phase.
He expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for the airport runway and for the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince His Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to provide funding for the construction of the main airport.
