Sultan al-Arada, Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), chaired on Thursday a meeting of the Marib Governorate's Military and Security Committee. The meeting, attended by Lt. Gen. Sagheer bin Aziz, Chief of the General Staff, focused on recent developments in the governorate.
Committee members, including commanders of military regions, the police administration, and security units, presented briefings on the security situation and ongoing military developments in light of the persistent escalation by Houthi militias and their troop buildups around the governorate’s outskirts.
The VP commended the collaboration between security and military units and their commitment to assigned tasks, stressing the need to enhance security vigilance and raise the high level of readiness to deal with any developments on the ground and confronting any Houthi militia attacks on army positions on all fronts.
The meeting concluded with a strong condemnation of the horrific crime committed by Houthi militias in Radaa, Al Bayda Governorate, where they detonated homes while innocent civilians were inside, resulting in numerous casualties, predominantly women and children.
The committee expressed sincere condolences to the victims' families and wished the injured a speedy recovery. They denounced this heinous act, exposing the true nature of the Houthi militia and its brutal project. The committee further emphasized the hypocrisy of Houthi claims of supporting Palestine, as their actions mirror the brutality of the Israeli occupation.
