PLC VP Al-Aradah meets with Korean Ambassador to Yemen
Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, Sultan al-Aradah, held on Sunday a virtual meeting with European Union heads of missions to Yemen, discussing a range of issues and topics of mutual interest at local, regional, and international levels, with a focus on recent developments in Yemen’s political, economic, military, and security landscape.
The meeting included EU Head of Mission to Yemen Gabriel Munuera Vinals, Italy's Special Envoy to Yemen Gianfranco Petruzzella, and ambassadors from France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Portugal, Poland, Finland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Romania, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Malta, and Cyprus.
Al-Aradah highlighted the ongoing dire humanitarian situation in Yemen caused by the Houthi aggressive wars and the Iranian regime's support for the rebel group. He expressed gratitude for the EU's continued support for Yemen and its contributions to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The PLC VP Al-Aradah reiterated the Presidential Leadership Council's commitment to supporting the UN Special Envoy's efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just, and sustainable peace in Yemen based on agreed-upon local, regional, and international references. He warned of the ongoing threats to the peace process, particularly the Houthis' continued escalations and their determination to implement Iran's agenda.
EU HoMs reaffirmed their countries' support for Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council and the government's efforts to implement political and economic reforms. They expressed appreciation for the Council's commitment to achieving peace in Yemen.
