Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) member Major General Sultan al-Aradah affirmed that Yemen’s current turmoil is the direct result of the coup carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, stressing that all national challenges can be resolved once state institutions are restored. Speaking during a meeting on Sunday with Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Sagheer bin Aziz, Marib’s local officials, and senior military and security commanders, Al-Aradah said the armed forces and security institutions are the backbone of Yemen’s stability and liberation efforts. He added that the PLC values their sacrifices and follows their concerns closely.
Al-Aradah emphasized that Yemen’s paramount national cause is the restoration of the state and the liberation of the capital, Sana’a. He urged all parties to avoid getting entangled in short-term disputes, side conflicts, or issues rooted in the past. “People have placed great hopes in you. Carry this responsibility with honor and raise the banner of liberating the country,” he said, affirming that many are ready to sacrifice their lives to restore Yemen’s dignity and sovereignty. He noted that all national military formations are comrades in arms working toward the same objective: reclaiming the state. Yemen, he stressed, will not regain its regional standing or effectiveness unless it eliminates the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.
Al-Aradah also expressed deep appreciation for the ongoing support of the Saudi-led Coalition to Restore Legitimacy, which he said has stood by Yemen through its most difficult moments.
