PLC VP Al-Aradah Launches Official Broadcast of Saba TV from Marib

Vice President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and Governor of Marib, Sultan Al-Aradah, on Tuesday inaugurated the official broadcast of Saba Satellite Channel from the city of Marib, in the presence of Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Moammar Al-Eryani.

At the launch ceremony, Al-Aradah described Saba TV as a state-run broadcaster and “Yemen’s window to the world and the world’s window to Yemen,” saying its launch marks a significant step toward strengthening official media and enhancing its role in serving national and public interests.

He noted that the channel is being launched amid exceptional challenges, underscoring its importance in supporting state institutions, raising national awareness, safeguarding national principles and achievements, unifying the republican front, strengthening social cohesion, and contributing to efforts to rebuild institutions and restore the state.

Al-Aradah stressed that Saba TV is expected to present Yemen’s image to the world with honesty and responsibility, highlight the country’s just causes and rich heritage, and convey its voice to regional and international audiences through professional and ethical media discourse.

He called on the channel to fulfill its mission with responsibility and professionalism, serving as the voice of the state and a national platform that reflects the aspirations of Yemenis and defends their causes. Al-Aradah also expressed appreciation to President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the leadership of the Ministry of Information, and the media, technical, and administrative teams involved in establishing the channel.

For his part, Minister Al-Eryani said Saba TV begins broadcasting with modern technical infrastructure, advanced production capabilities, and qualified media professionals, positioning it as a qualitative addition to Yemen’s media landscape. He described the channel as a national platform and the voice of the state, tasked with conveying facts to domestic and international audiences with professionalism and responsibility.

Al-Eryani highlighted the symbolic significance of launching the channel from Marib, describing the governorate as a stronghold of the republic and a front where Houthi militia projects and Iranian-backed plans were thwarted. He stressed the need for a balanced and responsible media discourse during the current sensitive phase, one that strengthens national unity and supports efforts to restore the state and achieve a just peace. He also praised Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Yemen across economic, humanitarian, and development sectors.

Meanwhile, Director General of the Yemen General Radio and Television Corporation, Iskandar Al-Asbahi, and Head of Saba TV, Khaled Alian, said the channel will provide a diverse range of news, cultural, and social programming reflecting Yemen’s rich identity and promoting national loyalty and belonging. They affirmed that Saba TV represents a significant addition to official media institutions and an important step toward strengthening national discourse and enhancing professional media performance amid the challenges facing the country.
