PLC VP Al-Aradah, UK Ambassador Discuss Reforms, Stability

Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council and Marib Governor Maj. Gen. Sultan Al-Aradah met UK Ambassador to Yemen Abda Sharif to review the latest national developments and explore ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Talks covered key political, economic, and humanitarian issues, with a focus on challenges facing the government, including reinforcing state institutions, stabilizing the economy, and improving basic service delivery amid ongoing conditions.

Al-Aradah emphasized the need to bolster state institutions and enhance their capacity to deliver services, noting this is critical to easing the humanitarian crisis caused by the Iran-backed Houthi group.

He also called for stronger international partnerships to support the government’s reform agenda and address mounting challenges.

Both sides stressed the importance of coordinated efforts between the government and international partners to achieve tangible progress in reforms and improve institutional performance.

The UK ambassador reaffirmed London’s commitment to supporting Yemen, promoting stability, and advancing economic reforms in line with the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
