German Ambassador to Yemen Thomas Schneider visited Saba TV’s headquarters in Marib on Wednesday, where he was briefed on the channel’s operations, news programming, English-language content, and technical capabilities. During the visit, Schneider toured the broadcaster’s studios, control rooms, and transmission facilities, and held discussions with channel officials on potential cooperation in media training and capacity-building. He expressed Germany’s willingness to explore support opportunities and requested details of the channel’s training and technical needs. The ambassador praised the channel’s institutional development and its role in serving the public and promoting awareness. Schneider also visited Marib General Hospital Authority to review healthcare services and projects supported by Germany. He toured several departments, including maternity, neonatal care, obstetric emergency services, and the Yamaan Foundation’s health voucher project. The ambassador was briefed on ongoing medical services for residents and internally displaced people, as well as recent expansions aimed at increasing capacity and improving healthcare quality. He also visited the hospital’s MRI unit and commended the contributions of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen to healthcare projects. At the conclusion of the visit, Schneider praised the quality of services and reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to supporting Yemen’s health sector in addressing growing humanitarian and healthcare challenges in Marib.
