The Deputy governor of Marib Dr. Abd-Rabbu Miftah has inaugurated a project to expand the entrance road to the government-held city in Yemen's east.
The YR 1.657 billion project increases the breadth of the road to 40-60 meters for a six kilometer distance from the city's north. The project consists of road expansion, asphalt renovation and of establishing road islands with tree planting and sidewalks.
The government-held city is a safe haven for thousands of Yemenis fleeing the Houthi rebel militia's crackdown and persecution.
