The Governor of Marib, Major General Sultan Al-Arada, inspected on Moday opening safe roads and corridors for those affected by the torrential rains and floods in Sirwah district, after rises in water levels in Marib Dam , overflowing its natural spillways for the first time since the construction of the dam in 1986 .

 

During the visit, the governor was briefed Al-Arada on the humanitarian situation and the damage that affected hundreds of families in the areas of Al-Rawda and Dhana, and the ongoing relief and assistance work, and efforts to open safe corridors for families trapped by dam’s flood water.

 

The Governor directed the concerned bodies to quickly address the situation, providing urgent needs and support to those affected at the expense of the local authority, and coordinating with humanitarian organizations to send relief aid to them.
