Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Vice President, Major General al-Arada, inaugurated the maternity and obstetric emergency departments at the Marib General Hospital on Monday and laid the foundation stone for the construction of a cardiac center, funded by the local authority.
During his visit to the hospital, al-Arada was briefed on the progress of work on several construction projects, including the emergency center buildings, a doctors' residence with 36 apartments, an administrative building, and a new hospitalization department with a capacity of 80 beds.
Al-Arada also chaired a meeting with the hospital's Executive Council to discuss the hospital's work progress, development and modernization plans, and the challenges it faces, praising the humanitarian role played by the Marib General Hospital Authority, as it is the largest hospital in the governorate, which received large numbers of displaced people, whose health needs put great pressure on the weak infrastructure of the health sector and limited services.
He also announced that the local authority would provide additional support to the hospital to purchase a cardiac catheterization device and a lithotripsy device, along with the dialysis unit, a start for establishing a center for kidney disease, in addition to financing the establishment of an oncology center.
