Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), Sultan al-Arada, met with Dr. Qassem Buhaibeh, Minister of Health, to discuss the current state of healthcare in liberated governorates and explore strategies to strengthen the Ministry's efforts in improving healthcare quality.
The meeting, attended by undersecretaries and general directors from the Ministry, included presentation by Dr. Buhaibeh, highlighting the Ministry's achievements in these areas. He underscored the implementation of plans and projects tailored to address the specific needs of each governorate, with a focus on expanding medical services.
However, Dr. Buhaibeh also pointed out significant challenges faced by the health sector. The decline in international aid, previously crucial for supporting and improving healthcare services, has intensified the existing need for recovery.
The discussion also delved into Marib Governorate, where the health sector grapples with major challenges due to a significant population increase. This surge is primarily attributed to internally displaced persons (IDPs) whose health needs are growing. The meeting concentrated on the Ministry's role in supporting government medical facilities, particularly in areas such as operational budgets, medical personnel, and equipment, to ensure continuous service provision.
