The VP of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Sultan al-Aradah held talks today, Tuesday, with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Yemen DO Bong-Kae over bilateral relations and ways to further boost joint cooperation in different areas.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Aradah extended the condolences of the Yemeni political leadership and government to the friendly government and people of Korea on the tragic incident and the victims of the crash of the passengers plane.
Al-Aradah's conversations with Bong-Kae focused on joint cooperation between Yemen and Korea in the areas of economy and development and the ongoing international efforts to achieve peace, stability, and reconstruction in Yemen.
The humanitarian situation amid the current tough circumstances Yemen has been experiencing and the pressing need to mitigate the humanitarian crisis were also touched upon.
Al-Aradah underscored the importance role of Korea in supporting the future development projects in Yemen in the domain of technical education and vocational training, information technology and the renewable energy projects. He also voiced Yemen's desire to establish strategic economic partnership with Korea and to encourage the Korean companies to come to Yemen to establish their investments in all sectors.
The PLC VP touched on the persistence of the operations of the terrorist Houthi militias against the commercial ships and the militias' threats to the international navigation routes in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea. He noted that these practices represent flagrant violation of the international laws, requiring an international stance to deal with.
The Korean Ambassador stated that his country's government is committed to continue to provide the Yemeni people with the humanitarian and developmental aid.
Mr. Bong-Kae confirmed his government's keenness on further bolstering the partnership with the Yemeni government, increasing cooperation and coordination to serve the mutual interests of the two countries.
