Al-Alimi, Al-Sharaa Discuss Bilateral Relations and Common Challenges

Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Chairman, Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, along with PLC VP Sultan Al-Aradah, met on Tuesday with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara on the sidelines of the emergency Arab summit hosted by Cairo.

 

During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, praying that this blessed occasion brings prosperity and blessings to their nations and the wider Arab and Islamic world.

The discussions covered recent developments in both countries, bilateral relations, and prospects for strengthening cooperation at all levels. They also explored ways to coordinate positions on regional issues of mutual concern. President Al-Alimi commended the historic transformations taking place in Syria and the determination of its people to build their nation and shape a brighter future. He expressed his aspiration for enhanced cooperation to advance the strong bilateral ties between the two countries, including the reactivation of diplomatic representation.

 

Al-Alimi reaffirmed Yemen’s support for Syria’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the aspirations of its people for peace, security, and stability.

 

For his part, President Ahmad Al-Shara praised the deep-rooted ties between Syria and Yemen and emphasized the importance of close coordination in addressing shared challenges. He also expressed appreciation for Yemen’s leadership, government, and people for standing in solidarity with Syria and wished the Yemeni people success in restoring their state institutions, security, and stability.
