Members of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidarous Al-Zubaidi and Sheikh Sultan Al-Aradah, underscored the critical need for urgent solutions to the country's economic crisis during a meeting in Riyadh on Friday, June 27. They attributed the dire situation to the "absurd war ignited by the terrorist Houthi militias.
" The discussion, which included updates on Yemen's economic conditions, falls within the broader efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and relevant state institutions. Both officials emphasized the pressing need for concerted efforts to find immediate solutions to the economic and living hardships faced by the Yemeni people, deeming it a top priority. This urgency is particularly focused on addressing the collapse of the national currency and basic services. Call for Unity Against Houthi Aggression The meeting also stressed the importance of national unity to confront current challenges, primarily the threat posed by the Houthi militias. These groups, they asserted, have inflicted widespread suffering and hardship on Yemenis across both northern and southern regions, even targeting their livelihoods and essential needs. Major General Al-Zubaidi and Sheikh Al-Aradah expressed confidence in the intervention of "brothers and friends" to support efforts to revive Yemen's economy. They highlighted the extreme importance and sensitivity of the current phase, especially in safeguarding the gains achieved and thwarting the Houthi's dynastic project, which they maintain is supported by the Iranian regime. The meeting was attended by Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, and Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, a member of the commission.
