A senior official from Marib's local government has strongly condemned what he called "systematic and malicious media campaigns" targeting the province's judicial and security institutions. In a press statement issued today, August 4, 2025, the official refuted "false claims, fabrications, and baseless accusations" of legal and human rights violations, stating the allegations lack credibility and are not supported by any objective evidence. The official described the campaigns as an attempt to tarnish the governorate's reputation and undermine its state institutions. He emphasized that under the leadership of Major General Sultan Al-Arada, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor, Marib prioritizes human rights and is committed to upholding freedoms in accordance with the constitution and existing laws. He added that all judicial and security procedures adhere to legal standards. He clarified that all prisons and detention centers in the province operate within legal frameworks and are under direct judicial supervision.
The official noted that judicial authorities, national human rights committees, and international organizations conduct regular, unannounced visits to these facilities, with their reports consistently detailing the human rights situation. The official urged anyone with documented complaints or allegations to approach the official judicial bodies, which are authorized to investigate and rule on such matters. He stressed that the rule of law is paramount and that the local authority is dedicated to achieving justice and fairness with complete transparency, without exception or discrimination. In his final remarks, the official called on all media outlets, civil society organizations, and citizens to verify information carefully and avoid spreading rumors and misleading news that could harm the governorate and its official institutions. He concluded by asserting that these campaigns serve the agendas of the Houthi militia, terrorist organizations, and other enemies of the legitimate government.
