Vice President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), Maj. Gen. Sultan al-Aradah, on Monday attended the graduation ceremony of 1,139 students from various faculties at Saba Region University. In his remarks, al-Aradah congratulated the graduates and emphasized that education remains the cornerstone of state-building and a key pathway to restoring stability and achieving sustainable development. He said the Marib local authority continues to prioritize the education sector, viewing investment in human capital as essential for preparing future leaders. The PLC vice president reaffirmed the governorate’s commitment to supporting academic institutions and providing the resources needed to enhance their performance and strengthen their role in shaping capable generations. Al-Aradah highlighted the university’s challenging beginnings, noting that Saba Region University was established under difficult conditions with limited resources. Despite this, the institution has grown into a respected national model and a hub for thousands of students from across Yemen. He commended the university’s role in supplying the country with skilled professionals across medical, scientific, technical, and other specialized fields. He also expressed appreciation to the university leadership, deans, faculty, and staff for their efforts in advancing academic standards. Speaking to the graduates, al-Aradah said their achievement represents a significant academic and national milestone earned through years of dedication. He stressed that Yemen looks to them as a source of hope and relies on their knowledge and commitment to contribute to building a modern state. He added that graduation marks “not the end of the road, but the beginning of renewed service,” urging graduates to uphold national values and serve their communities with integrity. Saba Region University President Dr. Mohammed al-Qadsi thanked al-Aradah for his continued support, describing him as instrumental in establishing a modern educational foundation that has turned Marib into a center for learning. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to its mission and efforts to enhance the quality of higher education.
