Major General Sultan al-Arada, vice president of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), on Tuesday met with leaders and representatives of political parties in Marib Governorate to review the latest developments on the national scene. The talks covered service delivery and humanitarian conditions, alongside recent political, military, and economic developments. Participants also discussed the responsibilities of political forces amid what was described as a critical and exceptional phase facing the country. Al-Aradah emphasized that unifying the national ranks and strengthening partnerships among all political forces are essential to confronting current challenges, foremost the coup by Iranian-backed Houthi militias. He said Marib continues to stand as a model of national coexistence and collective action. He highlighted the central role of political parties in promoting social peace and cohesion, supporting legitimate state institutions, and backing the armed forces, security services, and popular resistance in their efforts to defend the republic and restore state authority. Al-Aradah urged political parties to place the national interest above all else, set aside political differences, and work in a spirit of responsibility and partnership to bolster stability and maintain security in Marib and other liberated governorates. He also stressed the need to unify political and media messaging during this sensitive period in a way that responsibly reflects realities on the ground and builds trust between the state and society. Party representatives, for their part, voiced appreciation for Al-Arada’s consultative approach and ongoing engagement with national forces, affirming their readiness to actively support state institutions and strengthen national unity.
