PLC VP Al-Aradah Stresses Unified Media Discourse in Meeting with Information Minister

Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Vice President Sultan Al-Aradah met with Information Minister Moammar Al-Eryani on Saturday to discuss developments in the media sector and its role in addressing the country’s current challenges while reinforcing a unified national message.

Al-Aradah underscored the importance of a unified media discourse that reflects national responsibility, supports state institutions, and strengthens social cohesion. He said the media must keep pace with national developments, inform public opinion, and report facts with professionalism, accuracy, and objectivity.

He stressed that the current phase requires responsible journalism that promotes national consensus and partnership among Yemen’s political forces, rather than media polarization and rhetoric that undermine the public interest. The media, he said, should serve as a pillar of stability and nation-building, not a vehicle for deepening divisions or fueling discord.

Al-Aradah also described the national media as a key partner in confronting the country’s challenges through raising public awareness and countering disinformation and misinformation campaigns.

He called for enhancing the performance of state media institutions through closer coordination, greater use of digital and traditional media platforms, and a unified, team-based approach that strengthens public confidence and advances national priorities.

For his part, Al-Eryani thanked Al-Aradah for his continued support for the media sector and his commitment to strengthening its national role. He said the ministerial programs currently underway are focused on modernizing official media discourse, improving coordination among media institutions, and promoting a unified national narrative that reflects citizens’ aspirations, counters disinformation campaigns, reinforces national unity, and supports efforts to restore state institutions and advance reconstruction and development.
