His Excellency Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), along with PLC members Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi and Othman Majali, convened a meeting with the leadership of Marib's local authority and executive offices on Monday.
At the onset, PLC member Sultan al-Arada warmly welcomed the President and the Council members, touching upon a range of military, economic, developmental, humanitarian, and security issues, challenges, and urgent needs.
In his address, H.E. President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi commended the remarkable achievements in Marib Governorate across various domains, despite formidable challenges and exceptional circumstances such as the ongoing war, influx of displaced persons, and resource scarcity. He extended his appreciation to the leadership of the local authority and society in Marib for their steadfast unity demonstrated over the years.
The PLC Chairman emphasized that Marib Governorate serves as the Republic's safety valve and a pivotal gateway to victory for restoring state institutions and reclaiming areas still under the grip of Houthi militias, notably the capital, Sanaa.
"We assure you that we will start from here and from all governorates to liberate the areas still under the control of the Iran-backed Houthi militia, and victory will be achieved through all armed forces in their various formations supported by the popular resistance." affirmed President al-Alimi.
The PLC Chairman highlighted Marib Governorate's resolute stance against the coup and its ongoing resistance against the Houthi militia and Iranian project in Yemen. He underscored Marib's significance as a symbol of the republic and its unity, emphasizing the council's commitment to prioritizing and supporting Marib.
He acknowledged the endeavors of the local authority leadership, led by Major General Sultan al-Arada, as well as the deputies, executive offices, and community leaders, in countering numerous attempts by the Houthi militia to disrupt the security and stability of the governorate.
The PLC Chairman emphasized the critical need to maintain internal unity, enhance security and stability, and undertake thorough mobilization efforts to counter the actions of the Houthi militia in areas under their control, particularly recruiting and mobilizing children into sectarian camps.
The meeting was attended by Major General Saleh al-Maqaleh, Director of the Office of the PLC Chairman. Accompanied by PLC members Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi and Sheikh Othman Majli, his Excellency visited Marib Governorate to inspect both the military and security situation and the developmental needs of its citizens.
Upon arrival, they were received by Governor Sultan Al-Arada of Marib, along with Chief of General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations Lt. Gen. Sagheer bin Aziz, undersecretaries, and numerous military and security leaders.
