Marib Emergency Committee discussed Tuesday measures and solutions for facing flood-damages and storms witnessed by a number of districts.
In the meeting presided over by Governor of Marib General Sultan al-Arada, the committee addressed a number of quick and necessary measures for avoiding floods from Marib Dam after raising water level to flood level for the first time since its construction decades ago.
Al-Arada directed making branch committees to the emergency committee across the province's districts for managing displaced people's camps and limiting damages resulted from the floods.
He talked about dangers expected from the continuous flooding of the dam, stressing significance of taking swift procedures like opening secure tracks, constructing floods- obstructers, making bridges, doing maintenance works to the damaged roads and creating draining channels, as well as implementing projects for making use from the water.
For his part, the Director of Displaced People Camps Management's Executive Unit Saif Muthanna provided a report on the unit's efforts for helping affected people like covering their needs through UNFPA and distributing 2300 food parcels, Eid's Sacrifices and extending clean water the DP.
