Governor al-Arrada inaugurates first medical college in Marib

The Governor of Marib, Major General Sultan Al-Arada along with the President of the University of Sheba Region, Dr. Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Qadsi, inaugurated on Tuesday the entrance exam for the first batch of medical students at the University of Sheba, in which 786 male and female students are competing for 50 academic seats.

During the inauguration, the governor Al-Arada expressed his happiness at the opening of the first College of Medicine in Marib Governorate and the Saba Region, considering it an advanced step in the required scientific direction.

He hoped that the University and its colleges would be a qualitative leap for Marib and the neighboring governorates ,as well as that the College of Medicine to be an essential tributary in the scientific, educational and academic fields.

He also appreciated the great efforts made by the presidency of the university, the deans of the faculties and all the university employees for the establishment and development of the university. For his part, the University President indicated that the Governor is credited for the opening of the Medical College and the launch of the entrance exam for the first batch.

Dr. Al-Qadsi pointed out that the admission to this Faculty will also be followed by admission to the rest of the faculties for 2,150 students, where the total number of the female and male students is expected to reach 14,000 during the academic year (2020-2021).
