Mithaq school students condemn Houthi militia’s bombing of their school with ballistic missile

Al-Mithaq school students organized a protest in Marib to condemn the bombing of their school with a ballistic missile fired by Houthi coup militia last Friday evening, September 25.

The students said the Houthi militia’s bombing of the school came minutes after the departure of hundreds of children and young scouts and guides who were conducting rehearsals for the lighting the torch ceremony of 26th September Revolution, where it might have caused a terrible massacre of 445 of the participants in the rehearsals, pointing out to severe damage to the school by the missile which has led to the suspension of studying in most of the classrooms.

The students made a humanitarian appeal to the United Nations ,its special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and UNESCO to protect their basic right to access education, and to protect the educational process from interruption due to the Houthi militia's repeated targeting of schools and educational facilities with ballistic missiles,as well as the arrest and kidnapping of teachers while moving between their areas and the Marib governorate.
