A preliminary gathering held in the city of Marib brought together local authority leadership and representatives of the Office of the United Nation for Coordinating the Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
The meeting aimed to inaugurate the provincial team coordinator for humanitarian actions in Marib governorate and to discuss the action-plan of Quick and Emergency Response to the needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP).
The Deputy governor Dr. Abd-Rabbu Meftah provided a detailed presentation about the humanitarian and relief situations in the governorate which has been subjected to Houthi militia's continuing military attacks.
Meftah handed over the OCHA Coordinator in Aden Nelz Dengol a draft of the humanitarian needs in Marib governorate in 2021.
Dengol stated that the OCHA has assigned a permanent representative in Marib tasked with overseeing and coordinating the humanitarian clusters' efforts in the governorate
