Two electrical transformers arrived in Marib province Saturday with total capacity 40MGW.
The South-Korean made transformers will serve as reducer devices to reduce the current produced by Safer Gas- Station from 33 KV down to 11KV so that power can be distributed through city network transformers.
General Director of Marib Electricity Station Eng. Abdulhadi Ashabwani told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) the two transformers, each 20MGW, will be put into operation within 2 to 3 months in the first phase.
Ashabwani added that the two transformers will help connect Marib electricity network with Marib-Gas –Station. By doing so there will be no need for purchasing electricity from private owned power companies.
