The Deputy Governor of Marib, Dr Abdurabo Miftah, met on Wednesday the special envoy of Sweden to Yemen Peter Semneby and discussed a number of issues related to the humanitarian situation of the displaced people”IDPs’’ in Marib governorate, underscored the increasingly growing needs for humanitarian aids.
During the meeting, Meftah also discussed the economic hardships and wide-scale damages caused by Iran-backed Houthi militia coup, and war it has launched against the legitimacy and institutions throughout the country, pointing out Marib has become a safe haven for those who have been displaced from their homes and villages by militias.
The deputy renewed calling on the humanitarian international organizations to open offices in Marib so that they can provide humanitarian aid to IDPs.
For his part, the Swedish envoy expressed his government's interest in humanitarian situations in Yemen, cited his government's efforts aimed to offer help along with international organizations.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Governor honored the Swedish envoy with Governorate's Shield for the efforts of his government in supporting Yemen especially in the health sector.
