The governor of Marib governorate Major General Sultan al-Arada met on Monday a delegation from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) branch in Yemen led by John Makio ,the deputy head of IOM in Yemen.
Priorities of the organization's interventions in supporting the health , water and environment sectors and managing displaced people's camps in the province were discussed.
The Governor ,during the meeting, pointed out the exerted efforts to receive the displaced people , provide basic services and meet their needs in the fields of health, education, water and in various service areas. He mentioned the difficulties and challenges facing the local authority the present time in light of the ongoing influx of the displaced people to Marib from all Yemeni provinces.
He expressed the local authority’s readiness to cooperate with the organization and provide all necessary facilities to help it implement its programs, activities and humanitarian projects in the governorate.
For his part, the head of the delegation of IOM ,the deputy head of its mission in Yemen John Makio said the visit of the organization's team to the governorate aims to track the displaced , visit them in their camps, identify their needs and assess the overall humanitarian situation in the governorate.
