Marib’s security committee holds extraordinary meeting

Security committee of Marib governorate held on Monday an extraordinary meeting on the latest developments.

The meeting, chaired by the governor Gen. Sultan al-Arada, discussed the escalation attacks by the terrorist Houthi militia against Marib, targeting of civilians with ballistic missiles and drones, as well the humanitarian situation in the governorate which houses over 2 million persons displaced by the Iran-backed Houthis.

It affirmed that the renewed aggression by the terrorist Houthi militia against the Marib Governorate will be decisively and firmly deterred and will end up like all violent attacks which have been continuing since the beginning of this terrorist militia's coup.

The Committee pointed out the Houthi militia's targeting of the densely populated city of Marib with ballistic missiles and Iranian drones is a clear message to the international community which confirms the continuation of its terrorist behavior towards civilians and exacerbating the humanitarian catastrophe, which was caused as a result of its coup against state institutions and its abuses against Yemenis under its control.

It praised a distinguished and heroic role of the National Army and tribes in facing the aggression of the terrorist Houthi militia in various fronts, noting the level of security, stability in the governorate, as well the integration between the security services and the military forces.

The security committee touched on the propaganda and false rumors spread by the Houthi militia in its outlets claiming the handover of women detained in connection with terrorist acts to an outsider party.

“This is false and an attempt to gain public sympathy in a way that is inconsistent with the values and morals of Yemenis and offends them”, it said, adding the security services will disclose documented details of how Yemeni women were forced and blackmailed by Houthis to carry out terrorist acts inside the governorate in conjunction with their deadly attacks on its outskirts.

General Al-Arada affirmed that Marib today is fighting in the frontline against a terrorist theocratic insurgent militia proved inconsistent with all humanitarian values, harbors blatant enmity against freedoms and democracy, seeking to bring Yemen back to the middle ages and to make the great Yemen a subservient for the Mullah in Tehran.

Governor indicated that escalatory actions by the terrorist Houthi militia reflect its understanding of the peace message sent by the international community, where it sees any peace effort as an opportunity and a cover for the continuation of its battles against the Yemeni people in various Yemeni governorates and neighboring countries.
