A team from the International Committee of the Red Cross has visited Marib to assess the impact of the organization's interventions in the eastern Yemen province.
The Field Team Leader of the ICRC Indy Nassif discussed with Marib deputy governor the humanitarian situation in the province whose population, mostly escapees from the radical theocratic Houthis, suffered flash floods recently.
Reflecting on the ICRC's interventions in the past month Nassif said the organization offered food and shelter aid to 10500 families and cash transfers to 7838 families.
He said his team's days-long visit will focus on assessing the increasing needs of the population and determine the ICRC's future interventions.
He said the organization would also launch new aid projects within days.
