Marib Police: We Work to Ensure Safety of all Humanitarian Workers

A security source in the Marib Governorate Police confirmed that security services are working diligently to enhance security, stability, and safety for both local residents and international organizations operating within the governorate.

The source expressed regret regarding the disappearance of two Médécins Sans Frontières (MSF) aid workers - a German and Myanmar national - on the international highway, stressing that the security forces are doing their utmost efforts to protect all humanitarian personnel. The source highlighted that the MSF has requested that its staff and field teams not require a security escort.

Given the exceptional circumstances our country is going through due to the ongoing conflict caused by the terrorist Houthi militia, the security source emphasized the necessity of security coordination for the field movements of the organizations.

The security source called on all humanitarian organisations to abide by security instructions and procedures that aim to ensure everyone's safety.
